The Islamic Center of Morgantown is proud to announce its first community wide hifdh competition made for the youth. Kids between the ages of 8 and 17 can register for this competition. It is open to any and all kids living in Morgantown.

There will be two groups:
Juniors (for kids 8-12) and,
Teens (for kids 13-17).

Each group will have different levels and the kids are free to choose which level they would like to compete in.

Juniors (8-12)
– Level 1 is memorizing half of the 30th Juz (from Surah Al-Naas until Surah Al-Fajr) (Juz ‘Amma).
– Level 2 is memorizing the entire 30th Juz, (Juz ‘Amma).
– Level 3 is memorizing both the 29th and 30th Juz (Juz Tabarak + Juz Amma)

For Teens (13-17)
– Level 1 is memorizing the entire 30th Juz, (Juz ‘Amma).
– Level 2 is memorizing both the 29th and 30th Juz (Juz Tabarak + Juz Amma)

This competition is free to join, and the top 3 winners in each group and level will receive cash prizes!

There are two main requirements to win:
1) Have proper memorization of these chapters of the Qur’an.
2) Have proper recitation (tajweed) of these chapters of the Qur’an.

This competition will be judged by three judges who will declare the first place, second place, and third place winners of each group and each level.

The preliminary round will be on Saturday March 11th, 2023. The main competition (for those who qualify) will be on Sunday March 12th, 2023. Then, on March 18th, we will have a community event where we announce the winners and distribute the prizes.
